Language Exchange

Day 7 – May 31st:

Wednesday

1:24 am

Today we had classes at their normal times except our culture class with our professors was at a restaurant in a plaza. After we had our discussions, a group of us got some gelato (I had mango, which was delicious of course) and walked to the meeting point where we would meet the rest of the group. When we got there we went to a bar to do a language exchange. We split up into groups and sat with students at the university who were native Spanish speakers. For about an hour we talked with them in Spanish and the other hour was in English. Even though it was really loud in the bar it was really cool to be able to communicate with people in multiple languages. I was with my friend Lorena and another girl we did not know who was from England. The native Spanish speakers were Carlos and José. I believe that we do this exchange every Wednesday, but I am not sure. It was a great experience to speak with others who are also trying to learn another language. It seems like Granada does not sleep, everything is open late and people are out and about. We have activities with the group that go late and quite a bit of homework to do on top of that. I have not been able to get into bed until close to 2 o’clock every night. While I am glad that we get to experience the city a lot, I am absolutely exhausted. ¡Buenas noches!

Lunch for the day: Isa made us Spanish tortillas!
